PHAN THIET TO BAO LOC

The van will transfer us to Phan Thiet from Saigon, a distance of 200 kms. We go by van because the area around Saigon is built-up and there is much traffic. We use the 5 hours for getting to know each other and for the orientation to Cycling Viet Nam, and for our first Vietnamese meal on the road. When we reach Phan Thiet, there is enough time for us to explore the town if you like.
We will sleep in a 3-star hotel in Phan Thiet city, then get up a bit early for breakfast. The van will then transfer us to the Route 28 T-junction 3 km. away; we then get out of the van and start biking! It is 112 kms to the highland tea capital of Bao Loc but we only cycle as much as we want to, since the van goes with us the whole trip.		 At 800 m. elevation, Lam Dong Province boundary

These smooth roads are in good condition, the traffic is light--not many cars and the landscape changes continously. You won't get bored when ride on this distance. You are on a dry road that looks like the same as the west, then suddenly the green belt appears in front of your eyes! Mountains, trees, rivers plus sounds of wild birds. All this creates such a pleasant feeling for each of us.
